The athletic trainer is in the unique position of knowing a mass amount of clinical and diagnostic information regarding the body, kinesiology, and pathology. AT’s are in the position to be a source of emotional support to athletes, patients, and co-workers. Utilizing the yogic philosophy and postures associated with the practice of yoga can encourage patients to be mindful of their breath in relation to their body and in relation to how they personally view their body. Yoga provides basic concepts to help provide emotional support and a physical outlet to help patients cope with their injuries.
